Here’s a fun way to celebrate the King’s birthday.
Have everyone wear Cromwellian helmets (they’re the Republican – or parliamentary – Roundheads) or crowns and tiaras (monarchist cavaliers).

Throw a BBQ.

Play a game before desserts.
The idea of the game is to be a little educational and get people talking. The questions should be – on the whole – factual.
Get guests into two teams of equal numbers. It can be republicans vs monarchists, but it doesn’t matter if there are some crowns on the republican team or vice versa.

Keep it fun – remind everyone that Oliver Cromwell ended up becoming King in all but name!

This game is inspired by a competitive quiz I saw on the sitcom Friends.
Have a scoreboard ready with the questions.

The team to answer the most questions correctly, wins. With a total of 24 questions (8 in 3 categories), the first team to get 12 answers right wins. Here’s a PDF of the questions:
You can prepare guests by including a link in the invitation to a webpage with some basic information:
Australian Constitutional Monarchy:
Toss a coin for who goes first. First team chooses a question from any category.
Sex it up and have fun! The Mistress of Ceremonies is the Oracle of Truth!

Have a prize ready for the winning team; a role of uncirculated King Charles III $1 gold coins to give to every member of the winning team.
Time for sweets!
